Agreement

By using Brag Frog, you agree to these terms. If your organization operates a self-hosted instance, your organization's policies may also apply.

What Brag Frog provides

Brag Frog is an open-source self-assessment and brag document tool. It helps you track work contributions, set goals, and generate AI-assisted self-review drafts. The software is provided under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.

Your data

• You own the content you create in Brag Frog (entries, goals, summaries)
• You can export your data at any time (Markdown or JSON)
• You can delete your data at any time through the app
• We do not sell, share, or monetize your data

Account and access

• Authentication is via Google OAuth — you need a Google account to sign in
• Instance operators may restrict access to specific email domains
• You are responsible for safeguarding your API tokens configured in the app

AI features

AI-powered self-review generation is optional and requires you to provide your own Anthropic API key. When you use this feature:

• Your entry titles are sent to Anthropic's API to generate drafts
• Anthropic's terms of service apply to that API usage
• You are responsible for your Anthropic API costs

External service integrations

Brag Frog connects to external services (GitHub, Jira, etc.) using API tokens you provide. You are responsible for:

• Having appropriate authorization to access those services
• Complying with those services' terms of use
• The scope of access granted by your tokens

Acceptable use

Don't use Brag Frog to:

• Store credentials or secrets beyond the intended API token fields
• Circumvent access controls on external services
• Violate your organization's data policies

Disclaimer

Brag Frog is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The maintainers are not liable for data loss, service interruptions, or any damages arising from use of the software. See the MPL 2.0 license for full terms.

Self-hosted instances

Organizations that self-host Brag Frog are responsible for their own data handling, backups, security, and compliance. These terms cover the software itself, not the operation of any specific instance.

Changes

We may update these terms. Changes will be posted in the repository and noted in the changelog.
